Private Meredith Bixby, a misfit in the Army, is struggling to complete his training. A psychologist, Major Shelton, is assigned to whip him into shape, but things only get worse with the help of Corporal Dolan and Private Stan. After a series of mishaps, Bixby is shipped to Morocco, where he becomes smitten with exotic singer-dancer Zita. He joins the Foreign Legion's Suicide Division to be with her, but is kidnapped by Arabian plotters and forced to assemble a stolen American cannon. Zita and her friends launch a daring rescue mission to save him.
