A couple, Eric and Janet, visit New York where Eric's play is being produced by Matt Saxon, a notorious figure known for his ruthless tactics. Saxon's constant demands for changes and revisions drive a wedge between the couple. Meanwhile, Saxon travels to Hollywood to secure a big-name actor for the lead role, but the actor rejects him due to his reputation. In a shocking move, Saxon sabotages his own girlfriend's Hollywood aspirations. Eventually, the actor agrees to star in the play, but only if Saxon is replaced as the producer.
