Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber play jingle writers Cavis Appythart and Millward Phelps in 1880s London. They create a musical, "The Princess and the Plumber", to open on Christmas Eve, aiming to teach London how to love. However, a nativity play at St. Bart's Church featuring the Star of Christmas threatens to overshadow their production.
