A teenager named Alicia, orphaned in a war-torn region of Colombia, seeks refuge with her uncle Óscar at his run-down guest house, La Sirga. Óscar agrees to take her in, but only if she stays out of his son Freddy's room. Alicia helps with repairs and befriends the housekeeper Flora and a young man named Mirichis, who works on the lake. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted by the mysterious return of Freddy, who may be aware of ominous threats to their survival.
