Ben Trego's twin sons are separated after their father's death in an Indian attack. One son, Paul Marsden, becomes the governor of Utah, while the other, a cowboy known as Three Word Brand, partners with George Barton on a ranch. However, their peaceful lives are disrupted when a rival rancher plots to take control of the water rights by getting rid of Barton and Brand. When Brand sees the resemblance between himself and the new governor, he decides to impersonate Paul and take his place in order to stop the crooked rancher's scheme.
