Executive chef Danielle Turner closes her Santa Monica restaurant after a year, feeling lost and in need of a new concept. She travels to Italy, specifically Ostia Antica, for inspiration, where she meets local Giancarlo Donati, who offers to be her tour guide. Giancarlo wants to continue his family's tradition of creating seasonal gelato flavors at their café, and Danielle gets caught up in his mission, using her culinary skills to help. As they work together, they start to fall for each other, but their road to happiness depends on their professional tasks and personal struggles.
