Kenichi Uhara, a newlywed, embarks on a business trip to Kanazawa, leaving his wife Teiko alone in Tokyo. He fails to return on the scheduled day, and Teiko begins an investigation to locate him, with the help of her mother, brother and sister-in-law, and a former subordinate. As she digs deeper, Teiko realizes she knows little about Kenichi's life, including his friends and colleagues in Kanazawa.
