In the year 2000 of the second calendar, a corrupt intergalactic government maintains control over Earth by using drugs to keep its citizens in line. When Roj Blake, a former rebel leader, witnesses a brutal massacre by authorities that is then covered up, his revolutionary fervor is reignited. He teams up with a group of outcasts and seizes a powerful spaceship, which he renames "The Liberator".
