In 2199, Earth is devastated by radioactive bombs dropped by the Gamilas, making it uninhabitable. However, a glimmer of hope emerges when a space probe on Mars offers a chance at redemption. Queen Starsha of Iscandar proposes a method to cleanse the radiation damage, and the crew of the rebuilt battleship Yamato must embark on a perilous journey to reach Iscandar and back within a year to secure the device and save the planet from the Gamilas threat.
