In a small town, a poignant cultural exchange unfolds when a kind-hearted elderly Jewish shop owner opens her home to a young boy from Harlem, leading to a chain of unexpected events that challenge their perspectives and ignite a powerful journey of discovery.

An elderly Jewish shopkeeper, Mr. Shaddick, takes in a young black boy named Herman, who is trying to escape the turmoil of Harlem through a sponsorship program.
