As a fervent believer's devotion reaches a boiling point, it sets off a devastating chain reaction of self-destructive tendencies.

In this movie, Martha Hayes, a devout Christian, struggles to make ends meet in Montreal, Canada. As a choir singer in an Anglican Church, she's drawn to Father Michael Ferrier, a charismatic Augustinian monk who's visiting for an interfaith concert. As Martha's admiration for him grows, she's forced to confront the limits of her devotion to God.
