A young Armenian man, Michael Abcarian, feels obligated to his father Leon, who sacrificed everything to bring the family to America. Leon, grieving the loss of his wife, struggles to survive and finds his son's responsibility a heavy burden. Michael's desire for independence is tested by conflicting moral codes from Avo, a hot-headed defender of honor, and Ana, his fiancée, who encourages him to confront the reality that maturity doesn't always mean getting one's own way.
