Alone with Her Dreams

Lucia, an 11-year-old girl, is left in the care of her strict grandmother, Maria, when her parents emigrate to France in the late 1960s. As Lucia navigates her new surroundings, she becomes curious about the adult world, particularly the men in her family circle. However, she soon discovers that one of them is hiding a dark secret, and she becomes a victim of his actions. Despite the challenges she faces, Lucia's grandmother teaches her to be strong, optimistic, and dignified. Thirty years later, Lucia returns to Sicily and discovers that her grandmother, who has since passed away, helped her overcome her demons and find the strength to live her own life.
