An American in Rome background

An American in Rome

A young Italian named Nando Moriconi from Rome is fixated on American culture, going to great lengths to emulate it, from adopting an American accent to dressing in styles he believes are popular in the US, and even attempting to mimic John Wayne's iconic swagger.

A young Italian named Nando, living in Rome, is obsessed with American culture. He attempts to mimic American English, dress like he thinks Americans do, and even eat cornflakes with ketchup. Despite his efforts, his life is a comedic parody of the real American way of life. Nando's ultimate dream is to visit the USA, so he takes drastic measures to get a visa, including a dramatic stunt at the Coliseum. However, his antics only make his situation more complicated.
