The Bowery Boys, Slip and Sach, work as copy boys at the 'Daily Chronicle' when their friend, Detective Gabe Moreno, is shot during a robbery by The Loop Gang. Slip inadvertently gains the respect of gangster "Angles" when he evades a police pickup. As they investigate, Slip and Sach discover that "Angles" and his gang are behind the crime wave. They meet the gang's leader, Carver, and his girlfriend Vickie, and the Bowery Boys devise a plan to bring the gang to justice, disguising themselves as mobsters and enlisting the help of their friends and a contact man, Louie.
