A young girl named Rusty is sent to America at the start of World War II to escape the danger. Now that the war is over, she returns home to her mother Peggy, but struggles to adjust to her old life due to her "Americanized" habits. Her father Roger, who has just returned from the war, finds it difficult to accept the changes that have taken place in his family.
