In a small, isolated community, a determined six-year-old girl named Hushpuppy lives with her father, Wink, who is preparing her for the impending collapse of the world. When Wink falls ill, nature spirals out of control, and prehistoric creatures called aurochs emerge. As the waters rise and Wink's health declines, Hushpuppy sets out to find her missing mother.
