A wealthy and charming socialite, Lawrence Revel, is initially opposed to his son Dick's relationship with a cabaret dancer, Nellie. However, as he spends more time with her, he begins to develop feelings for her himself. Meanwhile, Nellie's brother gets into trouble with the law, and Dick and Nellie's relationship is put to the test. Ultimately, Revel's love for Nellie goes unrequited, and he takes his own life, leaving his son to seek forgiveness from Nellie.
