Bill Denny, a newlywed and accounting professional, is struggling to balance his work and personal life. He's forced to live with his disapproving mother-in-law while his wife Kate, who has just named a stray Welsh terrier Archie, believes the dog is her anniversary present. Unbeknownst to them, Archie was trained by a group of smugglers to facilitate their illegal transactions. As Bill tries to get rid of the dog, he inadvertently becomes entangled in the smugglers' scheme, and chaos ensues when the police detective investigating a series of murders becomes suspicious of Bill's involvement.
