Police Detective Mike Carter quits his job due to insubordination, but soon gets a lucrative offer from Freddie Dysen to be the bodyguard of his uncle, Gene Dysen, the owner of Continental Meat Packing Company. Initially declining, Mike accepts the job after an attempt is made on Gene's life, only to become implicated in a murder.
