Winnie Wharton becomes a nightclub sensation with the help of her manager Ted "Lucky" Lorimer and pianist Tommy Blake. As her popularity grows, Lucky pursues rich socialite Iris Marvin, who rejects him. Feeling rejected, Lucky opens a gambling house, but things take a turn when Iris' brother steals her jewels to pay his debt. After Lucky is arrested, Iris bails him out and marries him. Meanwhile, Winnie's money is stolen by a crooked lawyer, leaving her financially ruined. Despite this, Lucky secretly backs a show for Winnie, which becomes a huge success.
