The film tells the story of a rookie police officer, Ross Martin, who joins the Michigan State Police driven by his love for Mary Adams. Martin proves himself to be a courageous lawman, earning recognition for his bravery in capturing criminals. However, his career takes a turn when he allows the leader of a gang of bank robbers to escape, due to his own carelessness, and is subsequently suspended from the force.
