Cat in the Sack background

Cat in the Sack

A disillusioned journalist searches for significance in his profession, weighed down by the burden of using his platform to make a difference.

A young Quebecois journalist, Claude, feels disconnected and disillusioned with modern society. He struggles with the desire to reform it and the temptation to conform. His girlfriend Barbara, an anglophone Jew, is more focused on her theater career than his philosophical concerns. The stress from Barbara and his editors prompts Claude to escape to a secluded cabin, where he reevaluates his life and eventually detaches from Barbara.
