Steve Nordstrom, a former convict, is released from prison after serving time for assaulting Carl Fowler for insulting his girlfriend. After getting a job as a handyman for businessman Morton Ramsey, Steve's memory is erased after a brutal beating by Fowler. Unbeknownst to Steve, Ramsey's wife Claire is having an affair and plots to frame him for her husband's murder, which actually takes place.
