Charley-One-Eye background

Charley-One-Eye

In a tense and gritty tale, a former Union soldier and a wounded Native American captive form an unlikely alliance to evade a ruthless bounty hunter and outlaws, set against the unforgiving backdrop of racial tension and violence.

A black soldier flees the Mexican border after killing a police officer, and meets a crippled Native American who becomes his reluctant servant. As they journey south, they form an uneasy alliance and find shelter at an abandoned church, where they scavenge supplies from a dead prospector. The unlikely friends enjoy a peaceful few days, bonding over food and drink, and the Indian adopts a one-eyed chicken as a pet. However, their tranquility is disrupted by the arrival of a ruthless bounty hunter seeking the soldier's capture and a gang of murderous Mexican bandits, leading to a violent and dramatic conclusion.
