Danielle Aames, a schoolteacher at a Marine Corps base in Virginia, has spent three years grieving the loss of her husband, Major Colby Aames, who went missing in action. This Christmas season, she's about to celebrate a milestone birthday with her 8-year-old daughter Audrey, who has accepted her new fiancé Pierce Hammond's proposal. As Audrey begins to ask about her father, Danielle starts receiving mysterious signs that make her wonder if Colby is trying to communicate with her.
