A tour guide in Rome, Angela de Luca, is fired from her job for showing visitors unique experiences not found in standard guidebooks. She meets Oliver Martin, a businessman from New York, who is in Rome to acquire a high-end Italian ceramics company. Oliver is focused on financials and doesn't plan to experience Rome's culture. Angela knows this approach won't impress the old-world Forlinghetti family, so she offers to guide Oliver through the cultural process. In return, Oliver agrees to help her create a business plan for her own tour company. As they spend more time together, Angela and Oliver start to fall for each other, but their futures depend on their business endeavors and whether they can merge their two very different lives.
