In post-war London, 1946, John Graham, a Canadian, supervises the cryptology department, breaking enemy codes. His wife Carol, a British resistance worker, is on leave, expecting their first child. She was captured by the Gestapo during the war, but refused to reveal John's location, resulting in her permanent limp. Tragically, Carol is killed in a hit-and-run, and John sets out to find the perpetrators to exact revenge.
