In the movie, Dr. Harry Wolper, a charismatic character, sets out to achieve his ambitious goal: cloning his deceased wife. He begins by recruiting a new student assistant, Boris, with the promise of a co-ed's phone number. Meanwhile, Harry hijacks cutting-edge equipment, confusing his fellow researchers who struggle to comprehend his vision. As he searches for a suitable egg and host, Harry becomes obsessed with his project, even going so far as to post notices on every telephone pole in town. Along the way, he meets Mili and observes the blossoming romance between Boris and a young woman, mirroring his own experiences from 25 years prior.
