The two-part TV movie tells the tragic story of the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff, a German passenger ship, at the end of World War II. On January 30, 1945, Captain Hellmuth Kehding commanded the ship, evacuating wounded soldiers and civilians as the Red Army closed in.
