In a small town, a devastating car accident sparks a web of deceit and misdirection as detectives work to unravel the mystery surrounding the tragedy.

Mona Dearly, a vocal and unpopular woman, meets her demise when her car crashes off a cliff and into a river near her small upstate-New-York hometown. Police Chief Wyatt Rash launches an investigation, suspecting foul play. The entire town becomes a suspect pool, including Wyatt's daughter Ellen, who is set to marry Bobby Calzone, a landscape artist whose business is struggling due to his partner Jeff's laziness.
