In the small town of Washington state, Emily Mariposa and her business partner Adam raise butterflies for events like children's birthday parties and weddings. Emily's passion for butterflies is matched only by her struggle to overcome a recent break-up. Her competitor, Mandy Fisher, is ruthless and only cares about the bottom line. When Emily lands a job at a birthday party, she's asked to give a tour of her butterfly farm to the birthday girl, Amanda, and her father, Garrett. Emily and Garrett form a bond, and she finds herself developing feelings for him. But just as things are looking up, Garrett's ex-girlfriend, Jill, reenters the picture, pressuring him to return to New York to take over his family's business.
