On a treacherous quest to a distant world, space travelers encounter a dwindling group of survivors, a formidable robot, and a stunning revelation about the downfall of a long-lost civilization.

Commander Adams and his crew are dispatched to a planet to investigate the sudden silence from a previous scientific expedition. Upon arrival, they find only two survivors, Dr. Morbius and his daughter. Unbeknownst to Adams, Morbius has made a groundbreaking discovery, which he intends to keep to himself.
