Sam Wheat, a successful investment counselor, struggles to express his true feelings to his girlfriend Molly, a young potter. Their lives are disrupted when a murder occurs in a Manhattan alley, trapping Sam's spirit between worlds. With Molly in danger, Sam turns to a spiritual medium, Oda Mae Brown, to warn and protect her.
