Kate Loy, once a tea girl, is now the ruthless editor of the Sunday Comet, a scandalous tabloid owned by Australian media mogul Stanhope Feast. Despite accusations of phone hacking, Kate's connections help her avoid consequences. However, when Feast and his family arrive in England to secure a TV deal, the hacking scandal resurfaces. Kate resigns, and the paper is shut down after Connor, Feast's son, betrays his father. In a final act of revenge, Kate and veteran reporter Ray produce one last edition. The film concludes with a title explaining the fates of the characters, many of whom ended up in prison.
