A US Marine, Corporal Allison, washes up on a deserted island in 1944 after his submarine is attacked. He meets Sister Angela, a nun who was left behind during a evacuation. Despite their initial isolation, they discover a plentiful food supply on the island. But their peaceful existence is disrupted when Japanese forces arrive to build a military outpost, and the duo is forced to take shelter in a cave. The Marine's skills prove crucial to their survival, and they grow closer as they work together to stay alive.
