Hitler's Children background

Hitler's Children

The complex and troubled legacies of the Nazi elite's families are explored, revealing the profound effects of the Third Reich's sinister legacy.

The documentary features five individuals who are direct relatives of high-ranking Nazi officials, including the great-niece of Hermann Göring, the great-niece of Heinrich Himmler, the grandson of Rudolf Hoess, the son of Hans Frank, and the daughter of Amon Goeth. Despite not having Nazi leanings themselves, they share their experiences and feelings about carrying a name associated with the Nazi Party, dealing with their family's legacy, and coping with the guilt and shame that comes with being a relative of someone who committed atrocities during WWII. The documentary also includes a visit to Auschwitz with the grandson of Rudolf Hoess and a journalist, as well as the son of Hans Frank's public speaking engagements to school-aged children, where he shares his personal story and denounces his parents' actions.
