A couple, Havana and Peter, steal a county fair's daily earnings and flee to Canada, where they marry in a Hutterite community to evade detection. After Peter's death, his younger brother Zeke is forced to marry Havana, but discovers the hidden loot and a newspaper article linking Peter to the robbery.
