A retired boxer, struggling with the consequences of a severe brain injury, finds himself entangled in a complex network of relationships after meeting a compassionate beachside carnival owner and forming a bond with a charming master thief who is plotting a daring robbery.

Johnny Walker, a troubled cowboy and boxer, struggles with self-destruction, aggression, and a brain injury from years of fighting. He's torn between his love for Ruby, the owner of a local beachside amusement park, and his inability to express his feelings. As his boxing career declines, he's forced to confront his mortality and the dangers of his profession. Meanwhile, a new friend, Wesley Pendergass, introduces him to a street philosophy and a potential big score, threatening to push Johnny further over the edge.
