Cowen Rosewell, a teenager, documents his life after enrolling in a media course as a way to pass the time. After witnessing random acts of violence, his world is turned upside down when his friend is brutally attacked and they kill the assailant. As they investigate, they uncover a mysterious force controlling gangs and rounding people up at a nearby factory.
