In this independent feature, a young woman named Annika, living in a small working-class town in northern Minnesota, has her life disrupted by the arrival of a wealthy stranger named Mark. They begin a sexual affair, and Annika is invited to a luxurious cocktail party with Mark, where she meets a jaded upper-class couple and their guests. As Annika becomes increasingly uncomfortable, she sneaks out and has a sordid encounter with a fellow loner at a local bar before returning to Mark's hotel room. The next morning, they lose themselves in lovemaking as the townspeople gather for a sermon on the Book of Job. The film ends with a poignant but ambiguous conversation amidst the harsh winter landscape.
