Matt Weaver, a Confederate soldier, returns home after the Civil War to find his property has been sold by the town's ruthless boss, Sam Brewster. Brewster hires the notorious gunfighter Jules Gaspard d'Estaing to take care of Weaver, but d'Estaing's unconventional methods surprisingly bring peace to the town.
