The wealthy Gromberg family, a dysfunctional Jewish family from New York, struggles to come to terms with their grief and harsh realities. Despite their success, they are haunted by the absence of parental support and approval from the patriarch, Mitchell, who prioritizes his own values and often imposes them on others. As the family's eldest son, Alex, navigates his own parenting struggles, he begins to worry that his modern approach may negatively impact his firstborn, Asher, while his younger brother, Eli, seems to be thriving. The family's dynamics are pushed to the limit when Asher is arrested for drug possession in college, forcing them to confront the harsh realities of their family's dysfunction.
