The movie is a modern retelling of the classic Indian folktale of the hare and the tortoise, following the story of Rajaram, a middle-class clerk, and his neighbor Sandhya, whom he secretly loves. Rajaram's good nature and hard work make him a target for those who take advantage of him, while his friend Bashu, a fast-talking and boastful individual, charms Sandhya and joins Rajaram's company with false claims.
