He meets Rada, a Czech Jew, on the train and soon learns his mission: to assassinate Tsaimitis, the leader of the Budapest resistance movement. After returning to his hotel, Cloro is forced to let Müller search his apartment and brutally interrogate Rada, leading him to question his own ideals.
