In the western adventure, a fugitive named Butch Taggart breaks out of prison, and a determined Marshal sends Lightning Morgan to track him down and recover his hidden treasure. Morgan's quest becomes complicated when he discovers a map to the loot on Taggart's boot, only to have it stolen by rival treasure hunters, Joe Laikon and his gang. Morgan joins forces with Tod Grant to chase down the thieves and reclaim the treasure.
