The upcoming sequel to Mad Max: Fury Road is set approximately a year before the events of the original film. With the initial delay, the filmmakers had the opportunity to develop two backstories for Max and Furiosa. The movie, titled The Wasteland, focuses on Max and is described as extremely bleak. Max will be driving his iconic V8 Interceptor, while Furiosa is not expected to appear in the film.
