The film tells the story of Welles Remy Crowther, a volunteer fireman and Wall Street employee who lost his life in the 9/11 attacks. Despite being on the 104th floor of the South Tower, Welles helped save many lives by leading others to safety and carrying a woman on his shoulder down 17 flights. He was last seen going back up to help others, and his body was later recovered in the lobby of the South Tower. Welles' heroic actions have inspired many, with people honoring him through various forms of art, including poems, songs, murals, and photographs.
