In this movie, the dictator of Mexico, Santa Anna, commits outrages against Americans living in San Antonio, Texas. The wife of Captain Dickinson is insulted by one of Santa Anna's officers, leading to a series of events that involve the introduction of key characters, including Bowie, Crockett, and Silent Smith. The Texans successfully capture the Alamo, a combined mission and fort, but are later besieged and captured by Santa Anna's army. Only a few individuals, including Silent Smith, Mrs. Dickinson, and her child, are spared. The movie ends with Houston's victory over Santa Anna's army at the San Jacinto river, leading to the grant of Texas' independence.
