Whip Wilson and his friend Dave Connors are tasked with surveying a range for a new railroad line, but are abruptly ordered to leave the territory. The town and surrounding land are owned by a retired cattleman, Martin, whose daughter Clara is secretly exploiting the town with the help of her fiancé, much to the dismay of her sister Frances. Clara is aware that the arrival of the railroad will put an end to her control over the territory.
